Between the years of 1996-2005 (the main years of the steroid era), the average amount of 40-home run hitters in the league per season was 12! Guess how many 40-home run hitters there were in 2014? ONE. There was one guy (Nelson Cruz) who hit 40+ home runs in the MLB. That is a shocking statistic.
