Learn The Facts: Does Excess Dietary Protein Get Stored As Fat?
#5

erich1b Wrote:Good post. I can relate to the part about the myth of how much protein can be digested and absorbed at a time. The varient I've heard is 24 grams at a time. Was in a GNC store a few years back buying protein powder when the store manager told me you can only utilize 24 grams of protein at a time. I asked him where he got that from and he gave me the standard reply "many University studies." So I asked him to name one, which he couldn't. Then a sales assistant stepped in and said GNC had advised them of that. To which I went over and picked up a GNC brand protein powder that advertised 50 grams of protein per serving and asked the idiots if GNC knows you can only utilize 24 grams of protein per serving then why are they selling a product where half of the protein per serving is wasted when consumed. Fools didn't have an answer for that. Told them to ring up my item and I'll be on my way.

Thats a great story.Ive always thought the same thing about that stupid theory. So many protein powders list such high g of protein per serving but then we're taught our bodies cant process it anyway??[/SIZE]Wink
