Yes probably. It's highly unlikely it is infected without you getting feverish or feeling generally Ill.
The pin site would feel warm as well and there wouldn't be any sign of it getting better.
If it's just painful without any of these symptoms it probably isn't infected. But I'd keep a close eye on it. If it does get or is infected you'll need antibiotics.
