E Coli Survivor Wins Women’s Bodybuilding Award
In the increasingly popular world of female bodybuilding, one woman is on a mission to show the world she has what it takes to be a champion after nearly losing her life to the E. coli virus 10 years ago.
Mother-of-three Jo Brown, 39, recently scooped the accolade of “Miss Scotland Trained Figure” at a recent contest in Glenrothes, showing the world that even after dropping down to five stone during her illness, she was able to not only recover but focus on her passion for bodybuilding to win this prestigious contest.
Having taken up and consequently finding her affinity for bodybuilding as an initial way to regain weight after her E.coli ordeal, Ms Brown is now an avid competitor, following a strict regime of diet and training to prepare for her bodybuilding contests.
With this award now firmly under her belt, she is now in preparation for the National Amateur Bodybuilding Association’s British finals, but is under no illusion that it will be an easy task, acknowledging that nationally there is a “far bigger pool of women to compete with.”
