can u explain what that test is all about and can I do it at home??

No it can't be done at home...it's a basic blood test that they run in your Dr office. They can check cholesterol levels, hormone levels and many other things to make sure you are in over all good health. You do not have to tell your dr that you want to run gear and need your levels checked. Most Dr do this blood work with a yearly physical. It is not uncommon for a man in his 40's to ask to have his test checked.
