That's why I wish the FDA would regulate the suppliment industry. However, in the U.S., our entire food industry is shady and we don't even know what they are really putting in our foods. Very well could be different elsewhere.
I think the old school view is very prevalent around here. I see it as a positive, because there is a lot of information out there to sort through.
I like to hear about it, because without hearing others experiences, all there are is conflicting sources. I know a few guys who won't even use protein shakes.
Sadly, I cannot eat enough food to do that, I have search out time savers.

Can you start another post with your current diet and training routine, I'd be interested to see what you eat and how you train.
Time savers are good as long as you know whats really in them

Yea, I've been meaning to do so. Now that I have some time off, I'll post it. My diet on cycle has changed some, because I wanted to simplify it.

Wow, that is some serious eating. My body does not use calories in that way, but I am only 175 pounds right now.

Costco is legit for certain things in bulk. I get my protein and vitamins there. As well as stuff like eggs, almond milk, and chicken breasts. Love the place, but I can't seem to get in and out of there without spending a fortune.

Your point about saturated fat is simply economics. What I mean is, in the early 70's Nixon was going for re-election and had various things to overcome. One was food prices, he needed them to go down but to do that he needed the farmers on board. Enter Earl Butz from Indiana who was an academic who started the industrial farming we all now know as the norm. Mostly farmers where encouraged to grow corn and where subsidised for growing it. Grow enough of something for long enough and you have a glut of it, like the EU butter 'mountains' of the 90's etc. Butz along with Japanese scientists came up with High Fructose Corn Syrup, product made from corn. This found it's way into nearly every processed food, pizza, burgers, etc. Everyone was getting fatter and no one saw the link between the two. This is when companies started selling low fat foods, as the claim that high saturated fat foods where to blame. A claim backed by the FDA and the government at the time. Well what where they going to do with all the corn syrup produced? Companies created low fat diets, and added HFCS for flavour, sheen, etc. Simple economics, make money and damned the consquences.
Put it this way in 1966 the average BMI of people over 30 in America sat at 1.2% for men and 1.8% for women. In 1989 it stood at 10.6% for men and 14.0% for women. HFCS and sugar and processed food are the real killers out there. I'm with CC, crack an egg and use it, not out of a bottle. I prefer the whole egg myself but thats just me. Real food and watch your labels. Just saying......

This is an excellent post from ftblk36
Another point to consider is that the world cannot produce enough animals to feed its population and a way was needed to encourage people to eat produce made from wheat/corn/sugar/etc and what better way than to scaremonger us into avoiding or at least drastically reducing our desire for meat than to publish report after report after scientific study showing that saturated fat and red meat and just about everything about meat is unhealthy!
Seriously! A low fat bagel is better for us that a rib eye steak!!!! No chance.

Thanks stillgoingstrong, gotta keep up with the lies forced upon us. A government anywhere do not want a strong healthy population, weak and subserviant is what they're after. For those in the UK HFCS is known as glucose fructose syrup, you'll be surprised how many foods it's in.
