Default citalopram?

Hi guys,
Doc has put me on 20mg of citalopram e/d and wants to move this up to 40mg or 60mg over the next few months.
My question to you all is, will this affect my ambition to build muscle as I was thinking of a test-e cycle in a month or two.

I have never been on an anti d but assuming that this one acts similar to the others it basically will regulate the amount of seratonin in your brain to keep it from having spikes. How is it currently affecting you motivation?

Thanks for the reply. Yes it does affect the serotonin levels, how I don't know.
All I know is it makes me more relaxed and less sharp and aggressive, it also makes me feel less depressed. The funny thing is nicotine has a similar effect but that just makes my mild asthma a lot worse.
I have done a PH cycle in the past but wont to move up to a test-e cycle and just wondered if Citalopram would cancel out some or all the positive affects of the test.

Im not sure about the affect on the gains honestly i would tell your doctor about what your planning on doing if they dont want to give you good advice i would get a new doctor. The main thing that i would be worried about is that your on an anti d im assuming that one of the side effects is thoughts of suicide and aggression... depression and agression can also be a side affect of steroids. This would be my main concern

i've been on anti-d's for 6 years straight now, i'm nearly off them altogether though.

was on citalapram for a short while but it was that long ago and i was that fucked up i cant really remeber, they didnt do much for me though so they changed them and i've tried half a dozen over the years, i am on escatalapram at the moment on a low dose, its of the same family i think as citalapram hence the simular name!! doh....lol
they havent stopped me from building muscle, well i dont think they have....ha ha look at my pics in my log for the comp.
about 6 months ago i tried test replacement therapy TRT, i presume your in the US??? as you can get it through your doc as far as i know over there, and its maybe worth mentioning, as i managed to drop from 40mg a day which is the highest dose on these, down to 5mg a day what i'm on now due to TRT.
if not i can give you all the details of how to mix it and dosing and everything.

Also i know its a taboo subject mental health especially in men, but have you thought of some kind of counselling?
at the begining of this year i finished an intensive group therapy course, which was 3 and 1/2 days a week for a year!!! harder than jail so i've been told...lol
and ok everyone reading this will laugh, but imagine being with a group of about 12 people all with different mental health issues, some suicidal, some cutting, (you get the picture) and it makes one hell of a fucked up year for you.
was real heavy shit at times, but its the best thing i've ever done.
If admin reads this have you thought about setting up a counselling section??? for people who struggle with anger and family issues??
if so and i dont know how it'd work as it'd have to be private, i am classed as a self taught counselor and wouldn't mind offering help for people who need it.
so bigmac if you need anything drop us a PM only to happy to answer any questions and help anyway i can.

Thanks SkinnyGuy. I believe Citalopram is supposed to reduce or stop suicidal thought and anxiety also lift depression.
As for changing docs ive done that once already and we only have 2 in the village, so no where else to go.

sniper300c. Thanks for the kind helpful words man, but I am a kind of very private guy who finds it hard to talk. I can only do this on here because its kind of anonymous.
For me the only way to deal with the kind of thing that triggered my illness is to put it in the past. That is kind of difficult in any therapy sessions as they like to get things out in the open, something I am not ready for. Also I find it very hard to concentrate, am very forgetful regarding the immediate past and present, long term past is not a problem.
As for the TRT I am having a battle with my doc at the moment as 2 recent bloods have shown different levels of test one @ 7.2 and one @ 15, the lowest for my age is apparently 9. As the doc was scratching his head wondering what to do next I insisted on referral to a specialist. The waiting time is around 3 to 4months. So I might have to put myself on TRT hence the original question, does citalopram have any negative affects on muscle growth/testosterone.
And I live in the UK not US.
