Weighing Rice
I have a question that is only a issue because I am cutting.
When you use brown rice, how do you guys weigh or size it. So it says a Cup of uncooked rice makes four 180 calories servings. I wanted six servings, so I cooked a cup and a half. Each serving is supposed to be a cup of rice, or 48 grams. However, I only ended up getting 5 cups of cooked rice. So I weighed it, and got five and a half 48 gram servings. So I'd truly appreciate if you all share how you do this, because most of you know you stuff. HELP a dude out! :D |
right first thing first Leave the teaspoons, tablespoons, and cups in your french cooking class get scale and measure your food
this cups stuff is too prone to error for cutting I mean I eyeball it when bulking lol but cutting has to be right so on your packet information it will say one cup blah blah blah but should also give you amount in grams rice will more than double when cooked and never know how much water it takes on so stick with the scales and measure uncooked for grains |
Thank you. It was driving me nuts. I'd do one three cups for six servings and get five one time, 7 the next.
So if I weight it before cooking, how do I weigh it in servings after. Weigh it all and split it by number of servings? |

Exactly that. And if necessary weigh each portion until they are all equal. |
