Taking Prednisone, moon face side effect
Hi guys,
Many of you are very knowledgeable , so I want to pose this question to see if there might be a remedy for myself. I have ulcerative colitis and just recently it has flaired up. Basically is an ulcer in my large intestine and the ulcer bleeds. My gastro doctor prescribed the steroid drug to control the bleeding. Taking this drug, I now have a moon face. My doctor tells me, I have to deal with this aspect of the drug. He wants me on the steroid until I have my colonoscopy done, which will be in a few days. After that it will be a, to be determined Type situation. The dosage I'm on daily is 20 MG, taking one 10mg pill 2 times a day. Can I do anything, take anything to counteract the moon face side effect and minimize the facial swelling. Possibly a pharmaceutical product used for when using gear??? Your thoughts please. Thank you very much for any information. PS ... It looks like I went nuts and took way too much DBOL pills. Not good! Last edited by UBAD2; 01-02-2016 at 12:17 AM. |

Moon face ....
There is much more bloating/water retention in the body with DBOL, so if you do high dosage you face will puff face, thus the term, moon face. It can also happen with Test but not as easily as DBOL pills.

The bloating from dbol is controlled by using a serm or an AI or by cutting back on water retaining carbs. I don't know anything about prednisone so wouldn't be able to recommend anything except maybe going carb free or at least very low carb until your colonoscopy. That will help you lose water and with it, possibly, your moon face. A colonoscopy isn't too bad an experience fwiw |

Thanks ....
This will be my second one done. First one was about 18 months ago. The procedure itself is a breeze. The day before prep is the bullshit part. Drinking the solution to clean out your system and no food for 24 hours . It's the pits !

Just had a thought . . . Going low carbs will also help cope with the hunger. Its the fluctuating blood sugar that's the problem. In 3 days you'll stop feeling hungry if you start no or low carbs now. That's what I'd do. Definitely. |
