I honestly think, after decades of running, that unless you're an endurance athlete or you absolutely love running that weight training in any form is a far more useful form of exercise.
Running for weight loss is a flawed idea. Yes you will lose weight but it won't necessarily be fat. In order to retain muscle you'll need to replace those burned off calories.
Not knocking running per se. I loved it but if
I had my time again I'd have done shorter distances faster and spent more time training with weights, whether that was circuits, muscle or strength building.
