Love deadlifts as well. I do first rep off the floor and from just below knee racks. With stiff legged deads I don't ground between reps as I like the stretch, but do for normal deads. I only wear straps when my grip goes. I also found a long time ago that an alternate grip adds another 20% to the weight I can lift without straps.
I never bounce a weight! Ever! Ouch.
